Full‑Time Courthouse Cleaner

Franklin County Courthouse – Three‑Story Facility
Full‑Time, 40 Hours/Week
The County is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Courthouse Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout our three‑story courthouse. This role is essential to ensuring a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for staff, elected officials, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Cleaning of hallways, offices, courtrooms, stairwells, public areas and other areas to be discussed.
- Restroom Sanitation including restocking supplies and disinfecting surfaces
- Trash & Recycling removal throughout all floors
- Courtroom Care including benches, jury boxes, and public seating
- High‑Touch Surface Cleaning to maintain public health standards
- Floor Care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and occasional deep cleaning
- Stairwell & Elevator Cleaning
- Event/Meeting Room Reset as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and perform physical tasks across multiple floors
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe chemical use
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to work independently and follow a structured cleaning schedule
- Must pass a background check due to courthouse security requirements
Schedule
Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
Hours will be discussed upon hire.
Some early‑morning or evening hours may be required depending on courthouse operations.
Compensation & Benefits
$40,000-$45,000
Health, dental, and retirement benefits per county policy
Paid holidays and leave in accordance with county employment guidelines
