Months Long Investigation Leads to Additional Burglary Charges ![]()
In early December of 2024 and continuing through January of 2025 the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to numerous burglaries that occurred at businesses throughout rural areas of Franklin County. Most of the burglaries involved forced entry into the businesses causing significant damage to the property with thousands of dollars in cash being taken from within. ![]()
Early in the investigation, detectives were able to develop a potential suspect in the crimes. Eventually, and after significant work completed by detectives and uniformed deputies, the investigatory information was submitted to Franklin County States Attorney Abby Dinn. As a result, on May 21, 2025 formal charges were filed against Bryan F. Parks (44) of Buckner, IL. The charges include: Possession of Burglary Tools (Class 4 Felony), Burglary (3 Counts - Class 2 Felony), Theft (3 Counts - Class 3 Felony), Criminal Damage to Property (2 Counts - Class A Misdemeanor / Class 4 Felony).
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the investigation by the Williamson County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police - Crime Scene Services. ![]()
