Franklin County Sheriff's Office:

The Franklin County Sheriffs Office is currently accepting applications for the position of part time E911 Dispatch. All applicants must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid driver’s license. Job Title: Deputy Treasurer/Bookkeeper
 
Job Summary:
• Performs most payroll functions. Is point of contact for payroll related items for other department heads. Enters payroll based on time sheets submitted by department heads and works alongside County Clerk’s Office for IMRF and insurance elections.
• Answers phones and assists part-time clerks with tax collection throughout tax season.
• Collects taxes in busy periods of tax season, helps enter tax collections into accounting system.
• Other Duties as assigned by the Franklin County Treasurer

Job Environment:
The Franklin County Treasurer’s office is located inside the Campbell building at 901 Public Square in Benton, Illinois. Primarily a sedentary, climate controlled inside office position. However, candidates must be able to lift up to 20 pounds in support of moving records from one location to another.
 
Minimum Requirements:
• 4+ years of payroll experience
• Driver’s License
• Consent to Background Check, Pre-Employment Drug Screening, and will follow county handbook.

Preferred but not required:
Bachelor’s Degree in business related field

FRANKLIN COUNTY GIS COORDINATOR
 

This position is located in Benton, Illinois.  

• Will be responsible for all mapping changes due to real estate transfers.  Must maintain the GIS base map with property splits and combinations and maintain the genealogy for each parcel with the Parcel Builder Program.

 

• Be available onsite to answer taxpayer’s questions regarding their property descriptions.

 

• Act as Franklin County’s Project Manager in all future mapping projects.

 

• Must be versed in ArcGIS programs and be proficient in reading legal descriptions from deeds.  Knowledge of the Illinois Plat Act will also be required.

 

• Work with other County Departments in assisting with their GIS needs including training with staff in the Supervisor of Assessment’s office with ESRI software.

 

• Maintain the County’s mapping website in adding and deleting subscriptions and updating website with up to date information on property ownership.

 

• Assist staff with assessment duties. 

 

Salary to be determined by experience.
