FRANKLIN COUNTY GOVERMENT - EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION

 

Assistant State’s Attorney – Full time position, Monday to Fridays 8a.m. to 4 p.m, and be available for after hours calls.  Salary will be based on prior experience.  Job duties include prosecuting traffic, juvenile and criminal cases.  This position should be able to read police reports, attend court, make charging decisions, and provide guidance to police agencies when asked.  Includes health insurance and IMRF.  Must be able to keep confidential all cases handled by the State’s Attorney.  This position will be open for 10 days after originally posted.

Qualifications – Applicants must hold a Juris Doctorate Degree, have been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, and in good standing with the Illinois Bar.  Experience in criminal law is preferred.

Legal Secretary – Full time position, Monday to Fridays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Beginning hourly wage is $13.67 an hour for the first 6 months, then an increase in hourly wage after the first six months is completed.  County holidays off. Includes health insurance and IMRF.  Job duties include preparing documents as directed by attorney’s, answering phone calls and taking messages, filing of documents.  Applicants should be able to Multitask.  Must be able to keep confidential all cases handled by the State’s Attorney. This position will be open for 10 days after originally posted.

Qualifications – Applicants must have knowledge of operating a computer, typing, using Microsoft Word and WordPerfect, must be able to work well with others.  Proficiency in legal terminology is preferred but not required.  Legal Secretary experience is preferred.

Victim Advocate - This is a full time grant funded position that is fully funded through December 2020.  Monday to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Hourly Wage is $14.00.  County Holidays off.  Includes health insurance and IMRF.  Job duties include providing assistance with victim’s and ensuring that victim’s receive services.  Keeping victims informed of the progress of cases and when cases are set.  Provide support to victims and their non-offending families throughout the criminal process.  This position will be open for 10 days after originally posted.

Qualifications – Applicants should have knowledge of operating a computer, typing, using Microsoft Word and WordPerfect.  Must be able to work well with others and to keep a calm demeanor.  Must be able to keep confidential all cases handled by the State’s Attorney.  Knowledge of the criminal justice system and court procedures is preferred.
